Breakfast at One of the Most Elegant Restaurants in Paris

If you love breakfast food, opulent décor, and Paris, head over to Restaurant le Meurice Alain Ducasse inside Le Meurice Hotel on Rue de Rivoli. Its stunning dining room is out of this world as it’s inspired by Salon de la Paix at the Château de Versailles.

I saw the restaurant for the first time on Instagram and was stunned by its splendor and ornate details. When I realized they served breakfast, I made a reservation and couldn’t wait to eat there.

We got to the restaurant at around 9, and it was even more beautiful in person. The gilded molding, the antique mirrors, the crystal chandeliers, the old-world style paintings, and the architectural details were all top-notch, something you would expect from a 5-star hotel but with a twist – white modern chairs.

I had to admit I was more excited about the place than the food. But I should have been equally excited about the food because this was a 2-Michelin-star restaurant headed by its namesake, world-renowned chef Alain Ducasse. No wonder the food was delicious and elegantly served. The omelet and sunny-side up eggs were cooked to perfection. The smoked salmon was firm and flavorful. The croissants, pain aux raisins, baguette, and other pastries and breads were fresh and delicious. I also loved the assortment of jam and condiments. Even the orange juice and coffee were good!

What made this place even more memorable? They provided a stool for my purse! Except in Japan, I had never seen this anywhere else. They thought everything through!

So if you’re in Paris and want to know what it feels like to have breakfast at Versailles, or at least in a dining room that looks like a room in Versailles, check out Restaurant le Meurice Alain Ducasse. They now have gluten-free bread!

But if you want to go there for dinner, make sure you make a reservation well in advance. The last time I checked, it was fully booked a month in advance.
